How a modern video door phone works
An IP video door phone has an outdoor panel with camera, microphone and call button at the gate or door, and indoor monitors in the rooms you choose. Because it runs on the network, calls can also reach your phone when you are away.
You can see and talk to the visitor, unlock the door or gate if the lock supports it, and review snapshots of everyone who rang while you were out.
Planning for kothis and apartments
In a kothi we usually place one panel at the main gate and another at the front door, with monitors on each floor. In apartments the panel goes at the flat entrance. We plan the cable route so the panel is protected from rain and direct sun.
